Cherry Pie

A co-worker brought me yesterday picked cherries from his yard. How could I resist the challenge of attempting to make my first cherry pie. Used a recipe from Epicurious.com, with minor tweaks. First pie came out too sweet and crust overdone. Fortunately, I had enough cherries to make a second pie. This time I used lime juice in the cherry filling and cooked it a little on the stovetop. And then I baked the whole pie for less time. Great results. Below are pics of the first pie, before and after baking.
